The HANAC Team
We provide a range of services for children and adults. Goals are created to address individual and family needs, in order to identify and apply an effective plan that is family driven and addresses the needs of the family overall, with an emphasis on safety and stability for the children as well as the entire family structure. HANAC has created a supportive network with community service providers that are also available to the families and children, if additional services are necessary.

Our Services: The Child and Family Counseling Program provides the following: We provide children and families with comprehensive assessments. We offer access to services in collaborative partnership with our families. We advocate for our children and families in supporting their navigation of larger systems. We join with families to help parents reconnect and reestablish relationships with their children, partners, and other family members.

About Us: The Child & Family Counseling Program offers general preventive services to children and families throughout the borough of Queens, NY. This includes Astoria (Q01), Flushing/Whitestone (Q07), Bayside/Littleneck (Q11), and Queens Village (Q13).

Our Mission: To strengthen families through the provision of accessible, culturally competent, health-promoting services which represent a partnership amongst children, families, community providers and the child welfare system.

Our Services: We utilize the Mobility Mentoring framework developed by EMPath. Our goal is to support our families in utilizing the tools necessary for them to succeed in their successes. Specifically, the Bridge to Self-Sufficiency ("Bridge"), is utilized to explore the areas in their lives most impacted by the trauma or crisis situation that brought them into general preventive services. We use the "Bridge" to support families in their effort to stabilize and mitigate risk factors and develop plans to reach economic self-sufficiency.

HANAC provides services in English, Spanish, Greek, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese. Outreach is also conducted to support families in their efforts to work with schools and community providers to ensure the best services and resources are identified and available are in place for their children.

The HANAC Child and Family program is easily accessible by public transportation and has hours of operation conducive to the availability of the families.
